About us

Thank you for being part of our special day!

You probably already know a lot about us, but we decided to dedicate one section of our wedding website to summarise the best moments of our life together (so far!):

30th August 2014 – Our first date
We met in King’s Cross with the idea of spending two hours together, however the date went so well that we spent the whole afternoon and evening together. Which we counted as five or six dates in one go! We had ice cream in Selfridges, went to the Wallace Collection, walked through Regent’s Street, visited Liberty, walked through Covent Garden, went for a Mexican dinner in what has become our favourite Mexican restaurant (Café’ Pacifico, near Covent Garden -really recommended if you are in London) and walked around Piccadilly Circus where, under the Cupid’s statue, we kissed for the first time.

2014

  • A few days later, Thomas organised a surprise picnic in Regents Park and, believe it or not, we are keeping this as a tradition, having a picnic there every year!
  • For a few months, we then enjoyed every spare moment visiting London, a city we still love and we got to know each other a lot more.

2015

  • Thomas was supportive while I was writing my Master thesis and did my viva in March 2015 with great success!
  • I started working at King’s College London
  • In April, for my first birthday together, Thomas brought me on a romantic train trip to Paris!
  • After he got back from a wedding in Mexico, we decided that it was time to move into his flat together!
  • We both met each others parents!
  • We visited the West Coast of Ireland, Milan and Alessandra’s home town in Italy
  • We did more London trips, my brother and sister came to visit us, we also travelled to Verona, the Expo in Milan, Stonehenge, Bath and Edinburgh
  • We did an half a marathon walk together for Cancer Research UK

2016

  • I started working at NIBSC
  • The Flying Scottman passed closed to our home!
  • We went to the Muse concert at the O2 arena
  • We travelled to York, spent our first holiday in Spain, visited Stratford Upon Avon, Kew Gardens and went up the Shard in London
  • Plus more Italy and more Ireland trips

2017

  • We bought some furniture for the living room and a new massive TV!
  • We visited Bath, Belfast and while there we did a Game of Thrones tour!
  • We went to Holland Park for my birthday, climbed Tower Bridge, visited the Sky Garden, had dinner in the Hard Rock Cafè in Hyde Park.
  • My parents and their friends came to visit us and we brought them to all the touristic sites in London
  • We went to Lindsey Stirling concert (a violinist which we like so much!)
  • Had the most amazing time in Barcelona!
  • Had many barbecues both in UK and Italy!
  • Saw two of our friends (Denise and Rosario) getting married and had an awesome day at their wedding in Italy!
  • Went to the Pink Floyd exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London
  • Ran on the Lahinch beach in Ireland!
  • Went to a Gin Festival in London
  • Went to Italy for my cousin’s wedding
  • Went off to Spain for another great holiday!
  • Visited Bergamo
  • Enjoyed our friends Emma and Andrew amazing wedding!
  • I presented a poster at a conference at the British Museum while Thomas went to a Conference in America!
  • Saw the Xmas lights in London and enjoyed a beer bike tour for Rob’s birthday!
  • Spent New Year’s Eve watching the fireworks from the medieval walls of Bergamo!
  • I bought my first car!

27th August 2017 – Thomas proposed
We had the most perfect day in London, by visiting the National Gallery and took a selfie in the same spot we did it on one of our first dates. We went for afternoon tea in Fortumn & Mason before heading for a pleasant walk along the river. The weather was amazing, 27 degrees for the whole day!

On the Golden Jubilee Bridge, Thomas proposed to me in both English and Italian and it was amazing!

We had dinner in our favourite Mexican restaurant and then stayed in the St. Pancras hotel, one of the most amazing places we have ever been to! The day after we went to the top of the Gherkin building in London for another amazing day trip!

It was just a dream for both of us!

2018

  • On the 2nd of January, we sat outside on the Martini terrace in Milan in front of the Duomo Cathedral, enjoying a Spritz! It was 15 degrees!
  • Started looking for wedding venues in Italy!
  • Went to see the most amazing Monet exhibition at the Tate Britain!
  • Found our perfect wedding venue!
  • Surprised Thomas’s mum in Ireland for her birthday!
  • Thomas brought me to a spa in Tunbridge Wells for my birthday and drove across London!
  • We visited Canterbury
  • Went to Rome with both our parents, climbed the S. Peter’s Basilica till the top and saw the Pope on the Sunday!
  • Visited Marseille with Brendan and Rachel, Cannes and St.Tropez for Paul and Charlotte’s amazing wedding!
  • In St. Tropez, we stayed in the most amazing Airbnb, with hot tub, sauna and barbecue in the garden… unforgettable!
  • Drove for 1000 miles around Cornwall and visited the most amazing naturalistic places. Including one from my bucket list, the Eden Project!
  • Did a safari in Longleat and almost had the car vandalized by monkeys!
  • Had an afternoon tea 100 meters off the ground on a floating table in Southbank!
  • Went to the Bedford River festival with friends
  • Thomas and Brendan started making mead!
  • Went to an Italian procession in London!
  • Spent few days on Lake Garda, visiting Sirmione, Bardolino and Garda and a wine museum!
  • Spent our anniversary in the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London with an evening in the Brasserie Zedel eating French food and listening to wonderful jazz.
  • Did few trips to Italy for wedding stuff.
  • I picked my wedding dress!

2019
We haven’t got much planned yet for these months before the wedding, but we are still very in love and enjoying our lives together so much.  We are so looking forward to this year! We will be busy with more wedding preparation… We will keep you updated! Hoever, we got few plans before the wedding: we will visit a Van Gogh exhibition in London and have a small holiday to Spain to relax before the wedding. We are really looking forward to our big day!

30th August 2019 – Our Wedding day
Five years after our first date, we are getting married! We are so excited, in love and so happy of our journey together so far and look forward to the enjoy every moment of our future together!
